The inter-island sea bridge was a point of focus as Works and Infrastructure Minister Jerlean John met with THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine today.

According to the Ministry, there were discussions on strategic infrastructure priorities for the island, including the enhancement of inter-island connectivity, and ongoing port development.

There were also talks on proposed cargo transport measures in light of the upcoming dry-docking and scheduled maintenance for the M.V. Cabo Star.

The Port Authority also outlined interim plans for the uninterrupted movement of cargo between July 12th and August 3rd 2025.

Both the Minister and Chief Secretary also reaffirmed the importance of coordinated planning and sustained dialogue in addressing Tobago’s development priorities in a timely and integrated manner.

Minister John also met with representatives of the Tobago Division of the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, and the Inter Isle Truckers and Traders Association.

According to the Ministry, this provided an opportunity for meaningful feedback, ensuring that on-the-ground experiences and sector-specific insights are incorporated into the planning and implementation process.
