A 35-year-old Morvant woman has appeared in court for several offences, after hitting a policeman while trying to drive away from a wrecker.
The incident occurred around 1:35pm on May 2nd in the vicinity of Maraval Road in Port of Spain.
PC Solozano was conducting wrecking duties aboard a contracted wrecker vehicle, when he observed a silver Toyota Axio in breach of a ‘No Parking’ sign.
The driver allegedly became irate and attempted to leave the scene, hitting the wrecker’s door and pinning PC Solozano.
He was later treated for minor injuries and discharged.
The woman was arrested and subsequently charged with: wanton driving, assault on a police officer, failing to render aid, obstruction of a police officer, and failing to comply with a lawful order.
She appeared in court on Monday, with the matter postponed to June 2nd 2025.
