Despite a valiant lower order blitz by Jason Holder, West Indies fell 11 runs short in their chase of 214 against Australia in the opening match of the T20I series.
David Warner’s 70 from 36 propelled Australia to 213/7 in 20 overs, while Andre Russell grabbed 3/43 in 4 overs.
West Indies got off to a solid start in the chase and were 100/1 inside the 11th over with 53 from Brandon King but slumped to 163/8 by the third ball of the 18th over.
Holder came in and blasted 34 from 15 but West Indies could only get to 202/8 in 20 overs.
Adam Zampa led the Aussie bowling with 3/26 in four overs.
