Update:
Emergency repairs at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant have been completed ahead of schedule, according to WASA.
The electrical works led to a reduction in the water supply to parts of Central and South-West Trinidad today.
However, WASA says full production of 40 million gallons per day has been restored at the Point Lisas plant.
DESALCOTT has also decided to increase production by a further one million gallons between 11am and 8pm today to expedite the restoration of normal supply to affected areas.
Initial story:
A reduced water supply today in parts of Central and South-West Trinidad is due to emergency electrical works at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant.
According to WASA, the disruption is expected to run until 3PM, with production reduced from 40 million gallons to 20-24 million gallons per day during this time.
The water company says a limited truck-borne supply is available via 800-WASA & the WASA Services App.
