WASA is hoping that work to address a sewer problem in Victoria Gardens, Diego Martin could begin next week.
The issue involves a collapsed portion of the Authority’s 8-inch sewer collection pipeline, along Royal Palm Avenue.
The pipeline runs at a depth of approximately 12 feet and WASA says the point of the collapse is located on private property, which has affected its ability to carry out immediate repairs.
The plan to address the issue includes re-routing a segment of the pipeline, which involves accessing and engaging in works on private property.
WASA says it is working assiduously to get the required approvals, and expects to secure the services of a contractor to begin work by next week.
It adds that pumping down measures will continue to be undertaken on an ongoing basis, in order to prevent or minimize overflows.
