WASA – work ongoing to bring truck borne water to Lachoos Rd

WASA says it is working to provide truck borne water to residents of Lachoos Road, Penal.

Today, a resident told 103.1FM that the area has not received a pipe borne supply for more than a month, despite many calls to WASA.

Company officials reportedly visited the Lachoos Road Community Centre yesterday concerning an IDB project in the area.

One official told 103.1FM News that affected residents came to the event to highlight their situation, and were assured by WASA a truck borne supply would be provided.

According to the official, there are challenges to provide Lachoos Road with a regular pipe borne supply, due to recent hot conditions.

These have resulted in low water levels at the old Petrotrin dam, which has in turn led to a 50% decrease in production at the Clarke Road Water Treatment Plant.
