WASA: Water use restrictions extended by a month

Water use restrictions put in place during the dry season will continue until July 31st, 2024.

This has been confirmed by WASA which says it has had no choice but to make this move as there are continued low levels at reservoirs, lack of rainfall and reduced water availability.

The Arena, Navet, Hollis and Hillsborough Reservoirs are all below their long-term averages (LTA) and there has been a cutback in production at the Navet Water Treatment Plant from 15 million gallons per day (MGD) to 12 MGD.

Water use restrictions, which include the ban on the use of hoses, were supposed to last until June 30th.
