WASA says the water supply has been restored to some areas in Central and South Trinidad.
In an update this afternoon, it says the Point Lisas Desalination Plant (DESALCOTT) continues to operate at 85% capacity, following an electrical issue over the weekend.
It says the areas with a restored supply are: parts of Gasparillo and Marabella such as Claxton Bay, Hermitage Main Road, Macaulay Road, Caratal Road, Bhagwansingh, Bonne Aventure Main Road, Old Parforce and Springland, San Fernando, Pleasantville, Cocoyea, Duncan Village, Ste Madeline, Reform Village, Harmony Hall, Ben Lomond La Romain, South Oropouche, Rousillac, Dow Village, Aripero, Chinese Village, La Brea, Vessigny, Union Village, Sobo, St.Mary’s Village, Barrackpore, parts of Woodland, Fyzabad Main Road and Saltmine Trace.
It adds that other affected areas are expected to receive a supply over the next 24 to 48 hours, while those at the extremities or elevated areas of the distribution system may experience low pressures or no water.
DESALCOTT meanwhile is said to be “working aggressively” to resolve the electrical problem by today.
