WASA says emergency repairs to the Caroni South transmission pipeline at Endeavour Road, Chaguanas have been completed.

Work ended at approximately 7:45pm yesterday and the Authority says the supply has since been restored.

It adds however that the transmission and distribution systems are currently being recharged towards normalization.

As such, it says it may take up to 48 hours for the service to normalize to some areas, in accordance with established water supply schedules.

In particular, it says the supply to Edinburgh 500, Balmoral Park, Lange Park, and Aberdeen Park is expected to be restored by 11 o’clock tonight.

WASA also advises that there may be some discolouration in the water supply as the service is restored.

Flushing exercises will be undertaken and those experiencing any discolouration in supply should allow the water to run until it clears.
