WASA explains temporary schedule for SW Trinidad

WASA says a temporary water schedule issued last week in relation to the Desalination Plant shutdown caters to the extremities of the distribution system.

The schedule covers the period October 31st to November 7th and was “associated with ongoing system recovery following recent Point Lisas Desal Shutdown”.

The Plant however has been back in operation since October 22nd, after shutting down for about seven days to allow maintenance work.

103.1FM News spoke with a senior WASA official who said when the plant goes out for that period of time, areas at the extremities of the system are affected for says or even weeks after.

As such, the official pointed out that the temporary schedules are for a limited number of areas on South West Trinidad.
