WASA says the water tank in Tobago in which the bodies of Sarah Smith and her children were found has been decommissioned for over three years.

The company extended condolences to the Smith family in a media release about yesterday’s discovery.

WASA says routine checks on the tank are no longer carried out due to its decommissioned status, even though the grounds are regularly maintained.

The water company assures that this incident has in no way compromised the quality of water provided to Parlatuvier and environs.

It adds that WASA is fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate the incident.
