Over 3,300 students have registered for the Education Ministry’s Vacation Revision Programme in 80 primary schools across the country.
The Education Ministry says VRP Primary is designed for students entering Standards Four and Five in September 2023.
It began today and will continue until August 11th 2023.
VRP Primary follows in the footsteps of VRP Secondary, which was launched in 2022 for students entering Form One.
The Ministry says VRP Primary is yet another measure to provide additional academic and psycho-social support to the students and parents that need it most.
It says a total of 3,381 of an estimated 3,500 students registered to participate in the VRP, which will feature classes in Mathematics, English Language Arts and English Language Arts Writing, along with weekly sessions in Dance, Drama and Music.
It adds that over 90% of the tutors selected for the VRP Primary are a part of the cohort of over 650 teachers trained in remedial teaching of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics by UTT during this Academic Year 2022/23.
Parents of students attending the 80 schools offering the VRP Primary are asked to note that late registration is available until Friday, 14th July, 2023.
Classes will be conducted between 9am to 3pm daily, with breakfast and lunch provided for students.
Parents of students entering Form One are also reminded that registration for the VRP Secondary, which begins on July 14th, 2023, is also open.
