The Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Complex came alive on Saturday, May 25th, as The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) hosted the highly anticipated 2025 National Aerobathon. The annual event brought together fitness enthusiasts, students, staff, and members of the public for a high-impact celebration of health, wellness, and community.
Powered by title sponsor KFC, this year’s Aerobathon delivered exhilarating aerobic routines led by top local fitness instructors. Participants competed in six categories: Under 20, 20–50, Over 50, Open, Staff & Students, showcasing stamina, energy, and unity through movement.
A major highlight of the event was the live coverage and on-site energy brought by official media partner 103.1FM. Popular host and media personality Sarika Mahabir kept the crowd energized and engaged throughout the evening, enhancing the electric atmosphere.
The newly introduced Staff & Students category received an enthusiastic response, with UTT faculty and students turning out in large numbers—fostering a strong sense of campus spirit and camaraderie.
In the competition, Chad Morgan defended his title in the Male Open category, while the Female Open category saw a new champion emerge, as former two-time winner Anika Walker joined the event this year in a different role—as an instructor. Adding to the family success story, Chad’s 10-year-old daughter, Isoke Morgan, also retained her Under-20 title, and 7-year-old Nathan Barry claimed victory in the male Under-20 division.
The venue buzzed with excitement as spectators and participants explored interactive sponsor booths and enjoyed product samples from brands like Nestlé – Good & Natural, Guiltless Yogurt, and Central Athletic Gym. The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee also made a strong presence, promoting their Women in Sport initiative and offering free massages and smoothies to attendees.
With over $15,000 in cash prizes and sponsor hampers awarded across categories, the 2025 National Aerobathon was both a competitive and festive event.
This year’s Aerobathon once again highlighted UTT’s dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles and advancing community wellness, especially among women in sport. With strong corporate support and media partnership from 103.1FM, the event stands as a vibrant symbol of the university’s mission to merge physical education with public engagement.
