USA have pulled off the first upset of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, beating Pakistan in a super over today in Dallas.
Batting first, Pakistan looked shaky, but were steadied by captain Babar Azam who struck 44 and Shadab Khan who made 40.
They eventually reached 159/7 in their 20 overs.
Nosthush Kenjige took 3/30.
In reply, USA got to 159/3 in their 20 overs, thanks to an even 50 from captain Monank Patel and an unbeaten 36 from Aaron Jones.
In the resulting super over, Pakistan could only manage 13/1, replying to the USA’s 18/1.
