The United States Coast Guard says it intercepted about 5,300 pounds of cocaine and marijuana in the Caribbean Sea.

The narcotics worth an estimated US$14.1 million were the result of four operations  by the crews of a joint Coast Guard law enforcement detachment.

Interceptions in the Caribbean Sea are performed by members of the US Coast Guard under the authority and control of the Seventh Coast Guard District, headquartered in Miami.
