US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has congratulated Kamla Persad-Bissessar on her Election victory.

In a social media post, Mr Rubio refers to Mrs Persad-Bissessar as a “Strong leader, friend, and US ally” who shares the President’s priorities on security and immigration.

He adds that he looks forward to building a close partnership for the future of T&T and the Caribbean.
