The US Southern Command has donated 45 military radios, known as Harris radios, to the T&T Defense Force.

The US Embassy says the radios are valued at USD$653,000 and represent the United States’ commitment to working alongside Trinidad and Tobago to build a safer and more secure future for the region.

The radio donation was made possible through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, a U.S. partnership with 13 Caribbean countries fostering security cooperation and building Caribbean partners’ capacity to disrupt illicit trafficking and transnational crime, advancing Caribbean and U.S. citizen security.
