Trade union leaders will deliver a letter to President Christine Kangaloo regarding the post of President of the Industrial Court.
The labour movement claims to have been informed that current Industrial Court President Deborah Thomas-Felix’s contract will not be renewed when it expires tomorrow.
The letter to President Kangaloo raised issue with manner in which Mrs Thomas-Felix is reportedly being replaced.
The unions say the Industrial Court President is out of the country and she was allegedly informed of the non-renewal just days before the expiration of her contract.
They say this is contrary to good industrial relations practice and does not auger well for the respect for the Industrial Court.
The unions add that, though they may not always agree with her decisions, Mrs Deborah Thomas-Felix worked with efficiency in dispensing justice independently and reduce a backlog of cases.
People like her, the unions believe, should be maintained.
