The UNC leader has reaffirmed the party’s campaign promises, after last night celebrating victory in the 2025 General Elections.
The UNC kept its previous 19 seats and gained several others in Trinidad previously held by the PNM, especially along the East West Corridor.
The EBC is expected to give preliminary results and voter turnout figures later today.
Over in Tobago, the TPP gained the island’s two seats.
Among the parties that also conceded defeat was the Patriotic Front, led by Mickela Panday.
Meanwhile NTA leader Gary Griffith said the election results show the country is not ready for a third-party option, and the outcome must be respected.
Meanwhile, as the PNM last night accepted defeat and said they will now move expeditiously into Opposition.
Political Leader Dr Keith Rowley says a decision will be made on who will be the Opposition Leader by tomorrow.
