The UNC wants answers from the EBC today, as the party considers legal action following the final Local Government Election result for Arima Northeast.
Following the poll on August 14th, there was a tie between the PNM and UNC in the district.
A first recount showed the UNC won by one vote, however when the PNM requested a check of the results, its candidate was then declared the winner.
The Opposition said it is receiving advice from its legal team to file an election petition.
In a letter to EBC Chief Election Officer Fern Narcis-Scope, the UNC outlined its alleged issues with the process, especially with regard to rejected ballots.
It is calling for a response by 4 o’clock this afternoon.
