The UNC has kicked off its by-election campaigns with its candidates for Lengua/Indian Walk and Quinam/Morne Diablo speaking at last night’s Cottage Meeting at the Penal Secondary School.

Nicole Gopaul, candidate for Lengua/Indian Walk promised to reclaim the district for the UNC.

Sarah Sookdeo, candidate for Quinam/Morne Diablo, said she was driven to offer herself to serve after seeing her people suffering oppression under the current government.

Quinam/Morne Diablo became vacant after the death of councillor Diptee Ramnath, while the EBC had ordered fresh elections in Lengua/Indian Walk after a deadlock in 2023.
