The United National Congress is celebrating its 36th anniversary today.

Party Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar offered thanks for last Monday’s General Election victory, adding that the victory belonged to the people.

The UNC was formed in 1988 by former Prime Minister Basdeo Panday, following a split within the then-governing National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR).
