UNC calls for full CARICOM Observer Mission report to be made public

The UNC is calling for the full report generated by the CARICOM Electoral Observer Mission to be made public.

The call came from attorney Darrell Allahar, who was part of a UNC team that met with the Mission’s members today.

At a media conference, Mr Allahar said reports by previous missions were not made public.

He added that it is only right that this be done, since these missions lend legitimacy to an election and its results.

At today’s meeting, the UNC also informed the Mission’s members about some of its concerns.

In recent weeks, the party has been vocal about issues it says were encountered, ranging from the objectivity of certain EBC officers, to unfair treatment of the party with regard to certain election procedures.

The six member CARICOM Mission is led by Ian Hughes, who is the Supervisor of Elections at the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission.
