United National Congress is calling for an audit of the Energy Ministry’s safety failures.
Shadow Minister for Labour Rudy Indarsingh demanded urgent action in this matter on the heels of the Pete Phillip incident and the 3rd anniversary of the Paria tragedy.
In a release, Mr. Indarsingh accused the Energy Ministry of lacking a basic emergency response plan after 100 years in the oil and gas sector.
He also called on Energy Minister Stuart Young to resign for dereliction of his duty to the sector.
