Incumbents Saddam Hosein and Vandana Mohit, along with Dr Michael Dowlath, have been chosen as General Election candidates for the UNC.

In a statement, the party announced its first three candidates for the next polls.

Hosein and Mohit will once again go up for Barataria/San Juan and Chaguanas East, while Dr Dowlath will be running for San Fernando West.

Dr Dowlath is a retired Principal of Naparima College, San Fernando, was a part-time lecturer at UWI for 22 years and was also the Interim Chairman of the Cabinet Appointed Standing Committee on GATE 2011-2015.
