UNC announces date for NATEX Elections

The UNC’s National Executive Elections 2024 will take place on Saturday 15 June 2024.

The date was announced by the party today.

It says Nomination Forms will be available at the UNC Headquarters on Mulchan Seuchan Road, Chaguanas, from Monday 13 May 2024, and on weekdays thereafter between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

The polls will take place at venues to be announced.

The UNC’s National Executive Elections has been a topic of hot discussion within the party in recent weeks, with some members vocal about a date being set.

The first to speak publicly was Mayaro MP Rushton Paray, who had welcomed the poll announcement.

In a statement he said, “These elections will play a critical role in the organization, governance and management of our party. If the UNC is to break the cycle of repeated General Election failures which have kept us in opposition for the past 9 years, then we must reform the way our party operates and manages its affairs.”

He also said that the extent of his participation in the election will be discussed “soon” as he urged persons interested in the “good governance” of the party to notify him in writing.
