A UK comedian’s stand-up routine of a slow-motion football goal celebration has gone viral on social media.

Karl Porter’s Instagram post of the skit has gotten over 3 million likes in three days and even attracted the attention of the Premier League’s Instagram account which commented asking who inspired the routine.

Porter says the routine was based on what he saw during his time as a garbage collector at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and based on his childhood when he would act out goal celebrations in his bedroom while watching football.

In addition to on his own Instagram account, Porter has received tons of views and likes on other social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.

Porter, who aspires to make comedy his full-time living, says he has been overwhelmed with the response to the routine.
