Two successful emergency landings at Antigua airport

An Air Canada flight made a successful emergency landing at Antigua’s V.C Bird International Airport last night.

According to the Antigua Newsroom, the flight carrying 120 persons reportedly encountered mid-flight technical difficulties shortly before 11PM.

An issue with the Air Bus 319’s landing gear triggered the emergency, shortly after departing Antigua for Toronto, which was resolved soon after.

This followed another successful emergency landing operation yesterday morning with an Amerijet 767 cargo plane.

Shortly before 11AM, the aircraft reported technical difficulties with its flaps during its Miami to St. Maarten flight.
