A Laventille man has appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Kester Reid.

Reid, a 46-year-old businessman, was shot and killed in Curepe on November 21st last year.

In addition to murder, 20-year-old Jabari Elder of Upper Picton Road, Laventille, was also charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

The matter was postponed to June 4th 2024 for disclosure.

Meanwhile a 34-year-old entrepreneur has appeared in court for the murder of 19-year-old Tayshaun Blackburn.

Michael Benjamin was also charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master De Silva on May 29th.

The matter was postponed to June 4th 2024 for disclosure.

Blackburn’s body was found on May 20th at his home in Arima.
