Two men are in police custody following a robbery on a maxi taxi along the Priority Bus Route on Monday night.

The suspects boarded the maxi near San Juan around 10:15pm and announced a robbery near the St. Augustine Tunnel.

After forcing the driver and passengers to hand over cash and valuables, they fled on foot through the tunnel.

On their way to report the incident, the victims spotted the suspects boarding another maxi which was intercepted by police near Mt. Lambert.

The men were held, and officers also recovered a loaded firearm, cash, and jewellery.
