T&T Scrap Iron Dealers Association President Allan Ferguson is renewing his call for a meeting with the Prime Minister.

It comes as he raised issues with the Scrap Metal Act, which was partially proclaimed in February.

The Act included several new regulations, such as applying for export licences and the inspection of containers.

At a media conference today, Mr Ferguson said there are lingering issues that need to be addressed.

Mr Ferguson said he intends to take legal action against the State for delays in receiving his export license.

He claims for more than a year, he has been experiencing issues concerning his license application with the Trade Ministry.
