Senior Superintendent Sean Henry says dismantling gangs is a main focus of the Western Division.

The Division consists of five police stations and several units.

At a TTPS media briefing this morning, the Senior Superintendent outlined the mandate of the Division’s Gang and Intelligence Unit.

He also said while there was a 24% decrease in serious crimes, there was an increase in sexual and other offences.

The Senior Superintendent added that cooperation continues with the Riverine Unit, the Defence Force and the Chaguaramas Development Authority to prevent crimes at sea.
