TTPS updates nation on murder stats

The TTPS says 454 murders have been reported for the year thus far, with 79 solved.

At a TTPS media briefing this afternoon, Senior Superintendent Rishi Singh revealed that the Northern Division had recorded the most murders, at 73.

Included in the numbers were 18 homicides involving children, and 44 where women were the victims.

Superintendent Singh also said, when compared to the same period in 2022, there was a 3.5% reduction in violent crimes.

He added that officer training is continuing, to improve their crime scene and homicide solving skills.
