Officers from the TTPS Guard and Emergency Branch were today dispatched to help Fire Officers to clear road blockages in North Settlement, Sangre Grande.

Between 8am and 10am, police were alerted to protests where several access roads were blocked with garbage and burning debris.

The TTPS says officers attached to the Sangre Grande Police Station, Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department and the Eastern Division Task Force responded to preserve order.

However, upon arrival, it says no one was seen in the vicinity of the blockages.

No arrests were made in connection with the reports thus far.

It adds that law enforcement is monitoring the situation and is urging citizens to adhere to the rule of law.
