The acting Police Commissioner is reporting decreases in several crime statistics, including murder, for the year so far compared to the same period in 2024.

Junior Benjamin at yesterday’s TTPS Media Briefing, outlined the areas showing what he termed ‘small wins’.

He then compared the murder figures.

The acting top cop said all but two policing divisions saw murder decreases.

In the other crime categories, sexual offences at this time are 330 compared to 338 last year, robberies are 680 compared to 1072 in 2024.

Mr. Benjamin said violent crimes overall are down 28 per cent.

And, he thanked the public for their help.
