TTPS: parents to be held responsible for their children’s activities

The TTPS intends to hold parents responsible for the activities of their children.

This declaration came today from Police Commissioner Erla Christopher, during a media briefing held by the National Security Ministry.

The Top Cop said there are children involved in criminal activities, an assessment that was subsequently backed by Senior Superintendent Richard Smith.

So exactly how does the TTPS intend to do this?

According to the TTPS, offences currently exist under the Children’s Act relating to neglect.

Senior Superintendent Rishi Singh also responded to a question as to what would happen if a report was received about a child being involved in gang activity.

The Anti-Gang legislation also puts the onus on persons to report gang activity.
