The TTPS says items found at Mosquito Creek on Sunday are not military warheads.
It says officers responded to the report around 7pm that day, where they found several “cylindrical projectiles” amongst the rocks on the banks of the Godineau River near the Bridge.
The items were examined by a team of specialists from the TTPS Explosive Detection and Disposal Unit “Bomb Squad” with the assistance of international partners.
The TTPS says while the items did appear similar to military munitions, they were identified as parts belonging to Concrete Piercing Tools used in the construction industry.
It adds that a number of major components for the functioning of the items were not present and in the interest of public safety, the items were seized and removed from the site.
Further investigations are being conducted.
