The TTPS says it is investigating an audio message currently circulating on social media, which purportedly features the voice of a woman police officer.

In the clip, the officer crudely responds to an individual who had called the station to report a home robbery.

The TTPS says the after the investigation is completed, the appropriate disciplinary action will follow.

It also assured that “every effort will be made to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.”

Police Commissioner Erla Christopher says the TTPS has been “investing substantially” to improve its service delivery to the public and strongly condemned any instance of poor customer service by police officers during the conduct of their duties.

She adds, “Any instance of poor customer service will be deemed unacceptable and will not be condoned by the TTPS.”

The Top Cop also stated that senior officers at all police stations are responsible for ensuring that all reports made, whether by telephone or in person, are accurately and immediately recorded and that officers take prompt action where necessary.

She says members of the public who are not satisfied that this protocol is being followed, can immediately seek an audience with the officer in charge of the station.
