Police say Senior Superintendent Mervyn Edwards has not been arrested as purported by a social media post.

The post suggested the policeman had been arrested by the Professional Standards Bureau regarding an investigation from “several years ago.”

However, the TTPS today says the post is fake and there is no investigation involving Senior Superintendent Edwards engaging the Professional Standards Bureau at this time.

It is urging the public to cease from spreading disinformation and to stay updated on policing matters via the official TTPS social media accounts.
