TTPS: “at least” a 73% reduction in violent crimes

The TTPS says there has been “at least” a 73% reduction in violent crimes.

Speaking at a media briefing today, Deputy Police Commissioner Junior Benjamin said there have been 18 murders so far this year, compared to 34 last year.

He went on to list some other violent crime statistics.

With regard to property related crimes, DCP Benjamin said there has been “at least” a 55% reduction.

DCP Benjamin insists now is the time to capitalize on the State of Emergency, as he urged persons to work with the TTPS.
