Periods of rain or showers remain in the forecast.
In an update issued shortly after 9am today, the Met Service says the broad area of low pressure that it has been monitoring shows little to no chance (0-10%) of intensification into a tropical cyclone over the next several hours.
It will move across the Windward Islands today and is expected to produce heavy rainfall and gusty there, with the most intense activity favouring the Northern Windwards.
The weather outlook for T&T today and tomorrow: periods of rain and showers with a medium (40% to 60%) chance of heavy showers and/or thunderstorms. In the event of heavy downpours, gusty winds and street/flash flooding are likely.
There are currently no alerts, watches or warnings in effect for T&T.
