The Met Service is again reminding persons of the yellow level Hazardous Seas Alert currently in place.
In an update today, it says conditions along northern and eastern exposed coastal areas are rough and choppy, with wave heights in excess of 2.5 metres and reaching up to 3 metres.
It also warns that agitated seas and increased risk of strong rip currents are likely to be perilous for activities such as fishing and swimming.
The rough sea conditions are due to relatively strong winds that are agitating the sea surface.
A yellow level High Winds Alert is also in place at the time.
Both Alerts are active until 6pm on Monday February 17th 2025.
