The MET Service has extended its Yellow Level Hazardous Seas Alert.

It says lingering northerly long period swells continue to affect coastal areas and are expected to gradually decrease overnight into Wednesday morning.

Occasional battering waves, especially during high tide, are still expected, with the Alert targeted at northern exposed coastal and marine areas of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Alert was due to end at 2pm today.

It will now remain active until 10am tomorrow.
