Investigations are underway following a fire at HSM Marketing in Chase Village that has led to substantial losses.
103FM News spoke with a TTFS officer, who said a preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was incendiary or deliberately set.
Most notably, they found a trail of fire leading away from the building, suggesting the use of a flammable substance.
15 vehicles were reportedly destroyed, with damage to the company’s building as well.
HSM Marketing is a supplier of new and roll on/roll off vehicles and has since stated that it will be temporarily closed until further notice.
The incident has been condemned by Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram, who visited the establishment today along with Councillor Dubraj Persad.
The investigation is being undertaken by the Fire Service, in collaboration with the Police Service.
