The Fire Service has issued a statement regarding the fire that claimed the lives of Minister and MP Lisa Morris-Julian and two of her children.
The blaze occurred around 5:30am today at a house on Farfan Street, which is close to the Arima Fire Station.
The TTFS says at the time of the incident, the station in Arima was engaged in an industrial fire, while the Tunapuna Fire Station was simultaneously responding to another house fire.
It goes on to say, “Both crews arrived at the Farfan Street house fire as quickly as possible and worked diligently to extinguish the fire.”
It also admits that upon arrival, a request was made for additional water supply due to a lack of water in the area.
The TTFS’ Fire Prevention Department and TTPS are continuing investigations into the incident.
