An issue at the Scarborough Substation led to the loss of electricity supply to the entire island of Tobago last night.
T&TEC released a statement on the incident this morning and said a bus bar fault occurred at the substation, following completion of maintenance work on a power transformer in Scarborough.
This caused a cascade of events which resulted in a loss of generation at the Cove Power Station and the island-wide outage at 10:21pm.
T&TEC says restoration started within 15 minutes and supply was restored to all persons by 12:45am.
