The T&T Coast Guard has released an official statement on an incident involving a vessel which needed assistance on its way to Trinidad from Grenada.

It says on June 29th, 2024, the TTCG got a distress call from Untethered Soul which was experiencing engine problems and was unable to use sails due to low wind speed.

The TTCG says it communicated with the vessel which Jesse James of the Yachting Assocation of T&T arranged for another vessel, MV Perseverance, to tow Untethered Soul.

It adds that it communicated with both vessels until they arrived in the Chaguaramas area from which the TTCG provided an escort to Peakes Marina.

The organization issued thanks to Mr James, the crew of the MV Perseverance and coast guard officers for their handling of the situation.
