T&T students recognized by CXC

Seven students from T&T have been recognized among the top regional awardees for the 2024 CAPE and CSEC exams.

For CAPE, there were three awardees:

  • Alexis Aqui of St. Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando – Most Outstanding in Environmental Science
  • Khadine Rambert of Holy Faith Convent, Penal – Outstanding in Information & Communication Technology
  • Charlotte Hadeed of St. Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain – Most Outstanding in Business StudiesAt the CSEC level, four T&T students earned Regional Awards:
  • Nataliah Castillo of St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph – Best Short Story
  • Abigail Ramdhanie of Bishop Anstey High School – Most Outstanding in Visual Arts 2D
  • Rizwana Abdool of A.S.J.A. Girls’ College, San Fernando – Most Outstanding in Visual Arts 3D
  • Rishav Persad of Naparima College – Most Outstanding in Principles of Accounts

Two students from T&T will also receive Special Awards:’

  • Nicholas Abreu of Fatima College – Eric Williams Foundation Award for CAPE History
  • Zaria Ifill of St. Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando – Most Outstanding in CSEC Geography (Prof. Wilma Bailey Award)

These students, along with other high achievers from across the Caribbean, will be formally celebrated at an awards ceremony on December 5th 2024 in St. Lucia.

The Education Ministry says a significant number of students from T&T have also been named on CXC’s Regional Merit List for their stellar performances in the June 2024 CAPE and CSEC examinations.
Notably, T&T’s students ranked first in 19 CAPE subjects, with 194 students listed on the CAPE Regional Merit List.
At the CSEC level, 159 students from T&T were listed, with top performances in twelve CSEC subjects.
