T&T President Christine Kangaloo will be given the highest award conferred by India to non-nationals.

President Kangaloo has been named the Chief Guest for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Odisha.

She will be honoured with the The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award.

The Office of the President says this award is an acknowledgment of a person’s exceptional achievements both in India and abroad.

Other awardees from T&T include former Prime Minister Basdeo Panday and Kamla Persad-Bissessar, former ministers Winston Dookeran and Dr Lenny Saith and High Court Judge Justice Frank Seepersad.
