The T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce says the State of Emergency is a step towards addressing T&T’s crime situation.

In a media release, it notes that the SoE is an opportunity for national security forces to address the situation head-on.

However, it warns that the SoE is not a standalone solution to crime and must be part of a broader, comprehensive and sustainable crime fighting plan.

Meanwhile, it says it is hopeful that during the SoE, police will be careful not to create any perception of abuse.
